Robert Leo McKeever, 80, of Wheeling, WV, passed away at his home in Dimmeydale on September 8, 2025.
Known to family and friends as Bob, he was born on December 18, 1944, in Wheeling to Robert James and Ida Marie McKeever. He graduated from West Liberty University and later earned a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from West Virginia University. Bob devoted his career to social work, focusing on job development and rehabilitation, where he touched many lives through his work.
In retirement, Bob found joy in simple pleasures. He rarely missed a chance to cheer on his WVU Mountaineers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved going to the movies-so much so that he proudly claimed to have seen every new release in the theater. Sunday afternoons often found him at the WV Snake Club in downtown Wheeling, where he enjoyed playing dominoes with friends.
Bob is survived by his children, Aaron Marie Kerr (husband, James G Hutto, Jr) of Memphis, TN, and Michael Hunter McKeever of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James and Ida Marie McKeever, and his siblings, Bonnie Marie (McKeever) Roberts and Thomas P. McKeever.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Tuesday, September 16, from 1:00–3:00 p.m., with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m., at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
