Robert J. “BJ” Mclear, passed away at the age of 62 on May 2, 2025, in the comfort of his home surrounded by love. He was born on June 11, 1962, in Norwalk, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Eileen (Aukland) Mclear.
Robert was a proud graduate of Genoa High School, completing his education in the class of 1980.
Throughout his life, Robert dedicated himself to his career at Maumee Bay State Park, where his passion for nature and the outdoors shone brightly. He was truly an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in activities such as hunting and fishing, and embracing all that the natural world has to offer.
His legacy will be remembered through the warmth and kindness he extended to others. Robert leaves behind countless memories, stories, and experiences that will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jodi (Estep) Mclear; children, Thomas Mclear and Mark (Donna) Mclear; grandchildren, Hoyt and Myles; siblings, Karen (Lisa) Molnar, Anita (Phil) Ritter, Marlene Norwalk, John Mclear, and Mike (Molly) Mclear; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eileen Mclear.
Family and friends may gather at Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, on Sunday, May 11, 2025, from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
