In Loving Memory of

Robert "Butch" Francis McNally

Robert "Butch" Francis McNally, age 76 of West Alexander, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 18, 2026. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on April 8, 1949, the son of the late Francis Robert McNally and Bertha Martha (Makowski) McNally.

Butch graduated from St. Basil High School in 1967. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972 and later worked as an Imaging and Diagnostic Technician for 35 years.

Butch, his wife, and children moved to the West Alexander area in 1977 to pursue a life of family, work, and raising his "critters." While he enjoyed hunting and fishing, he could most reliably be found on his way to, from, or at work; or somewhere on his property fixing, feeding, or chasing something or the other. His work, effort and energy seemed boundless with a feeling that he could do anything he set his mind to.

He was amusing and clever with a wit and delivery resulting in laughter that endeared him to family, friends, as well as the many patients and co-workers who encountered him in all facets of his life. His demeanor and curiosity made it no surprise that he never met a stranger and enjoyed learning from others.

Butch was raised Catholic, attended and graduated from St. Basil High School. While he held a deep belief in his faith, he also held another belief - a belief in work, the future, and LUCK, to be imparted each year on or about March 17th by one Timothy O'Shea, the family Leprechaun, whose spirit and joy are to be shared with family and friends.

Above all else, he was dedicated to and loved his family; he wanted the best for each of us and all of you too.

Butch was preceded in death by his father, Francis Robert McNally; his mother, Bertha Martha (Makowski) McNally; his brother William Charles (Kathryn) McNally; and his son Blake Patrick McNally.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan (Reams) McNally; his sisters Mary (Tim) Wilson, Jean (David), Elizabeth (Gerald) Nizol, Joan McNally his sister in law Kathryn McNally, sister in law Michelle Henn and his children Sean McNally, Jaimie McNally, and Gavin (Lisa) McNally; his grandchildren Danielle (Kyle), Frank, Brady (Jenna), Logan, Nicholas, Emma, Aiden, Fallon, Lochlann, Kennedy, and Torin; and his great-grandchildren Francis, Benjamin, Liam, and Tripp.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. and 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. (724) 663-7373. A Blessing Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at the funeral home.

Butch was a good man and will dearly be missed. I loved our chats when I was at work. He always had good stories.
