Robert "Bob" White McPherson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 15, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Born on February 7, 1938, in Springfield, Kentucky, Bob was the son of the late Robert "Bob" and Louise (Montgomery) McPherson.

Bob dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to IBM as a skilled computer chip designer, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Beyond his career, he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960, an experience that contributed to his deep sense of loyalty and honor.

Outside of work, Bob was known for his gentle and quiet demeanor, revealing a personality that made him a beloved presence among family and friends. His insatiable curiosity and desire to learn new things led him to explore various interests. Bob was an avid collector of general store and advertising antiques, reflecting his appreciation for history and nostalgia. Additionally, he embraced his passions as a private pilot and flight instructor, sharing the joys of aviation with others. Following his retirement, he ventured into the landscaping and nursery business, where he continued to find fulfillment.

Family was of utmost importance to Bob, and he loved spending quality time with his loved ones, often embarking on memorable trips together.

His legacy will be honored at a memorial gathering on May 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243), where friends and family can come together to celebrate the life he led and the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Karen McPherson; his daughter, Margaret Gorey (Kevin); his brother, Frank McPherson; and his sister, Mary "Jane" Klein. Bob is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.

Bob is preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Ann Smith and Kathy Mallory. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, curiosity, and love that will resonate in the hearts of all who knew him.
