Robert J. McQuade

Robert Joseph McQuade, age 83 years, of Bethany Village in Coxsackie, died on March 17, 2025 at The Pines in Catskill, New York. Robert (Bob) was born in Catskill on April 18, 1941 and was the son of the late Dr. Thomas Earl Mc Quade and Anne (Flynn) Mc Quade. After graduating from St. Patrick's in Catskill, Bob went on to attend and graduate from Mount St. Mary's College in Maryland. Six months active duty in the Coast Guard followed by a 6 year stint in the Reserves occurred before he settled into his career as a Probation Officer in Greene County.
Saratoga was a special place for Bob and the Mc Quade family. In his younger days the family would go to their camp on Saratoga Lake, enjoying boating. Later years would find Bob still in Saratoga, a visitor during horse racing season. There wasn't a person that Bob would not strike up a conversation with. He enjoyed traveling around town chatting about sports with those he would encounter and was a fixture at local diners.
Bob is survived by his son Paul Mc Quade and daughter Jill (Domenick) Costanzo. Besides his parents, Bob is predeceased by his brother Thomas (Tommy) McQuade.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday March 26, 2025 from 11-1 pm at the W.C. Brady Funeral Home with a celebration of Robert's life to commence at 12:30 at the funeral home.
Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Coxsackie.
