Robert Benjamin McWilliams
R obert (Bob) Benjamin McWilliams was born in
Sioux City, IA on April 3, 1952, the youngest of five children, to Howard and Margaret (Grieve) McWilliams.
He was baptized into the name of the Triune God in May 1952 at Riverside Lutheran Church in Sioux City and became a child of the King of Kings, with whom he walked for the 73 years of earthly life allotted to him.
As a young man Bob made a public confession of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Riverside Lutheran Church.
Bob graduated from High School in 1970 and soon after, married Patricia Pierce. Their union was blessed with four children: Jason, Jamie, Bobby and Ryan.
In the mid-1980s Bob and family moved to
Ankeny, IA and then in 1987 they moved to
Burlington, CO.
Early in 1989 Bob moved to
Boulder, CO. On June 16, 1990 Bob and Beth Marie Wehrkamp were joined by God into the one-flesh union of Holy Matrimony at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in
Boulder, CO and then moved to
Ft. Lupton, CO. The Lord blessed Bob and Beth's marriage of 35 years with one child, RyAnna.
As a Teamster, Bob drove trucks for 32 years, covering both long and more local routes. In between jobs driving truck, Bob taught CDL truck-driving. He retired from trucking at the age of 52. After retirement Bob kept busy with various interests, including service on the Ft. Lupton Golf Course Committee and as a member of the Ft. Lupton City Council for 12 years.
Bob, Beth and RyAnna joined Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Ft. Lupton in March of 1993 where he remained in membership until his death.
Bob's love for his family was unwavering, always putting them first. He enjoyed all things sports, especially spending time on the golf course and attending as many of his grandchildren's events as possible. He also enjoyed playing cards, and "playing" on or with his motorized "toys". Though he did not care for the cold, the lure of his snow blower, and his desire to help anyone he could, meant Bob would brave the cold to clear snow far up and down his neighborhood.
Bob was known for his very calming influence, displaying and teaching his family that, in difficult situations, nothing was so bad that it couldn't be handled. He loved the beach and ocean, taking numerous vacations to Hawaii and cruises.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Howard McWilliams Jr., his sister, MaDonna Comstock, and his grandson, Justin Towers. He is survived by his wife, Beth McWilliams (Wehrkamp); his children, Jason (Shannon) McWilliams, Jamie (Bill) Towers, Bobby (Brandi) McWilliams, Ryan (Elisha) McWilliams, and RyAnna McWilliams, as well as fourteen surviving grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Roger McWilliams, sister, Kathleen Ludwig and numerous nieces and nephews.
On December 6, 2025, Bob's Lord held out His hand and called him to enter into eternal Paradise where he awaits the final resurrection to our heavenly home on the day of Christ's promised return.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 1:00p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 650 S. Park Ave.,
