On Monday, December 8, 2025, Charles A. McWilliams, 94, of Glen Rock, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Sidney F. (Smith) McWilliams for 68 years. Charles was born on April 24, 1931 in Glen Rock, to the late Elwood C. and Virtie M. (Ness) McWilliams. He was born, raised and died on Glen Avenue in Glen Rock.
Charles graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1950. He then joined the US Navy during the Korean Conflict era, and was an Electrician's Mate 3rd Class, serving on the USS Lloyd Thomas DDE 764.
After his military career, he became a wireman for Frank Electric Company for over 41 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Shrewsbury; Dry Run Rod and Gun Club in Centre County; and Nixon Park. Charles was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed making bluebird houses. He was recognized by the Heritage Rail Trail for building and placing blue bird houses along the trail.
Charles is survived by his wife; three daughters, Kimberly A. Kelly (Phil), Kelly L. Waltemire, and Lisa E. Doty (Rob); five grandchildren, Terry, Jr., Maria, Rachel, Olivia and Gabrielle; two great-grandchildren, Colin and Evan; and one great-great-grandchild, Kamari. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Karla McWilliams; five siblings, Richard, Clark and Francis McWilliams and Charlotte Rinehart and Aunita Fringer; and one son-in-law, Terry Waltemire, Sr.
Public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 14 from 1:00pm until a funeral service begins at 2:00pm at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock. A private burial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to Christ Lutheran Church, 105 S. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361 OR to a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at www.geiple.com.
