Robert Thomas Mearns

Robert T. Mearns passed away May 22, 2025. Bob's father was the man who placed gold leaf and guilted many of your Bibles. Bob's mom was the woman who taught dance and smiles when there was misery. World War II is a difficult sacrifice in history. Bob was born nine months to the day from his father's return, July 27, 1946. Bob's Uncle Johnny served in the Pacific Theater doing World War II. He was in the United States Marine Corps, and Bob respected him tremendously. Vietnam occurred and Bob joined the USMC. He never talked of his service, except to say he was proud to serve his country-yet he chased many demons after his return. Life Magazine's front page featured a horrific battle and explosion-Bob was the radio guy in the photo-his body language spoke, "Get the hell out of Dodge!". Robert T. Mearns was a witty man adored by his loving family. May the Last Salute and Soldiers Prayer be repeated in Bob's honor.
