Robert J Merlo

Robert Merlo, a lifelong resident of Berkeley Heights, NJ entered into his eternal rest on December 23, 2024. A life well lived and a devotion to his family and friends that never wavered. Robert was born in Orange, NJ on June 1, 1947, along with his twin sister, Joyce.
He graduated from Governor Livingston High School in 1965 and later became a successful self-employed businessman installing computers for local businesses and restaurants for 30+ years.
Robert enjoyed playing golf, his cats, being a gardener, chef, and handyman around the house; most of all, he loved his family and friends. For many years, he took the utmost care of his mother and father. He enjoyed hosting many dinners and holidays for his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his sister, Joyce Merlo, his nephews, Kevin and Keith Chapman (wife Amber), his niece Dana Merlo Taboadela (husband Anthony), his great-nephews, Anthony, Victor, and Nicolas Taboadela and Weston Chapman, his great-niece Maeve Chapman, along with his first cousins Linda, Joe and Phyllis, as well as his special friends Crystal and the Akintola family.
He was pre-deceased by his mother Rose Merlo, father Joseph Merlo, and brother Victor Merlo.
The family extends a special thank you to his outstanding neighbors, doctors and care team.
