Robert "Bob" Metelak, 83, of Washington, IL, formerly of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Snyder Village Nursing Home in

Bob was born June 24, 1942 in Cedar Rapids, IA to the late Joseph and Lillian Procok Metelak. He married Janet Buss on July 18, 1964 in Cedar Rapids, IA and she survives.

Metelak; and Sarah, Adam, and Daniel Gruman; and his brother, Gary (Cathy) Metelak of California. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Driscoll
Bob served the Dubuque, IA community as a pharmacist for 48 years. He always enjoyed interacting with staff, coworkers, and his longtime customers. He supported Scouting and the NE Iowa Council, and he enjoyed doing maintenance and improvement projects at Camp CS Klaus, which he supported on countless occasions over 20 years. Bob enjoyed DIY projects, and the outdoors, especially golfing, hunting, fishing, and exploring. Bob played sports early in life and liked watching football his entire life. For many years he and Janet enjoyed searching for antiques, especially related to pharmacy and scouting.
Bob loved his wife Janet and children dearly and loved seeing his six grandchildren grow and develop into adulthood. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to express our deepest thanks to the Snyder Village staff, and to the Vitas Hospice care team.
