Robert John "Bob" Meyer, 71, of Strawberry Point, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester. He was born on January 21, 1954, in Manchester, the son of Delbert and Mildred (Fischer) Meyer. Bob was a graduate of Starmont High School.
On September 6, 1980, Bob was united in marriage to Brenda Lincoln in Strawberry Point. Two children were born to this union. Bob was a self-employed mechanic.
Bob enjoyed being outdoors. He liked old tractors, cars, and trains. Bob liked truck and tractor pulls, NASCAR, and drag racing. He enjoyed having gatherings at his home. Bob especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughter, Ashley (Kyle) Brantner of Madison, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Bryant Meyer-Kemp, Alexis Nading, Claire Nading, Kaleb Thomas, and Anya Dinger; daughter-in-law, Julie Kemp; eight siblings, Joan (Gerald) Streight of Dubuque, Kay (Ronald) Burr of Marshalltown, Bill (Diana) Meyer of Elkader, Larry (Connie) Meyer and George (Ellen) Meyer, all of Strawberry Point, Pat Chopard and Julie (Ray) Sandhagen, all of Edgewood, and Rick (Sue) Meyer of Strawberry Point; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Brenda Meyer in 2016; his son, Nicholas Meyer; one brother, Thomas Meyer; two nephews, Nathan Chopard and Dan Meyer; a niece, Jenny Grundmeyer; and brothers-in-law, Dale Grundmeyer and Paul Chopard.
