Robert "Bob" Thomas Miller, 70, of Leominster MA (formerly of Beverly MA) passed away in his home on November 7, 2025 surrounded by love, after a 6 year hard fight war with cancer. He was born in Beverly MA on 1/17/1955 to parents Ed and Jean Miller.
Bob was a career long construction project supervisor and built numerous commercial buildings in the Northeast and beyond. He had a tremendous eye for detail, devoted to his craft, well known and highly respected in the construction field for his "get the job done right and on time" style, and feared by many sub-contractors.
Bob had many interests including baseball, football and golf. He played semi-pro football for one year for the Montachusett Mohawks as an outside linebacker at the age of 38. He was also a Little League coach in Beverly MA for a number of years. He became interested in horses after he married his wife Jennifer, a life long horse owner and horse show competitor. Bob earned the title of Year-End Walk/Jog Western Pleasure Champion with the Connecticut Quarter Horse Association 3 years in a row on a Quarter Horse named A Bit Impulsive (Sidney) he shared with Jennifer. His crowning achievement was winning the Champion title at the American Quarter Horse Association Region 6 Championship Show at the Eastern States Exposition Center in W. Springfield MA. He retired from showing horses to take up golf again and was out on the links almost every weekend with his brothers Jimmy and Ray, and his son Tom. Every March he would travel to Florida with Jimmy for a week to golf in the sun with brother Wayne, and "brother" Tommy. Bob was deeply devoted to his family and friends, and had a heart larger than the universe.
Bob is survived by his wife of 34 years Jennifer Derby-Miller, his daughter Stephanie, his son Thomas Robert (Adrienne), grandson Judah, granddaughters Anna and Lilyana, siblings James (Lina), Wayne (Valerie), Judy (Harry), Debi and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased in death by his parents Ed and Jean, his sister Sharon, brother Raymond, and this year his beloved Boston Terrier Fenway and horse A Bit Impulsive.
A Memorial service will be held at the First Church Unitarian Universalist, 15 West Street, Leominster, MA on Tuesday, November 18 at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
