Mr. Robert James "Jim" Miner, 83, of Abingdon, Illinois passed away at 2:22 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at OSF St. Mary's Medical Center in Galesburg.

He was born on May 18, 1942, in Galesburg, to his parents Robert Max Miner and Connie Simpkins. His mother later married Fred Danforth. He married the love of his life, Sara Jane Sebree on March 4, 1961 at the Abingdon Christian Church.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sara, a daughter, Jami Jo Miner-Dugan (Camiel Claeys) of Abingdon, three grandchildren, Dustin James (Melissa) Miner of Knoxville, Stephanie Diane (Blake) Ryan of Knoxville, and Darbi Jo Dugan of Abingdon, five great grandchildren, Maverick, Montanna, Callahan, Briggs, and Fallon, a sister, Beverly Danforth of Galesburg, a niece, Julie Luper of Galesburg, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Donni James Miner in 2017, and Donni's twin brother at infancy.

He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1960. He later went on to work for Gates Rubber Company for 40 years. Jim loved his family very much and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was also very proud to be able to donate a kidney to his son Donni. He was an avid lover of Nascar, and enjoyed motorsports, helping his son Donni with motorcycle racing, and his beloved dogs and cats.

As Jim requested, Cremation will be accorded. A Graveside Service will be held at Abingdon Cemetery. A Fellowship Lunch will follow services. Service times will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon First Responders or the Knox County Humane Society.
