Robert Wayne Mitchell, Jr., better known as "Bob", "Mitch", and "Mushy", 79, formerly of Dixon, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehabilitation of Shabbona, IL. He worked as a Truck Driver for many years, retiring as a Teamster for Sealy Inc.
Bob was born on November 5, 1946, in Aurora, IL, the son of Robert Wayne and Josephine (Glover) Mitchell, Sr. Bob was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, loved coffee, woodworking, antiquing, reminiscing, and collecting Monopoly game sets. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to share.
Bob is survived by his children, Ronald (Mary) Mitchell of Sandwich, IL, James (Anne) Rundall of Amboy, IL, Gayle Silva of Rock Falls, IL; one brother, Earl (Evelyn) Mitchell of the Philippines; 9 grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Anthony), Kailey, Matt (Kelley), Mikey, Alexander, Cassandra, Adrian, Melora (Carl), Jared (Stephanie); and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sharon Keller; and two sisters, Gloria K. Mitchell, Vicki (Andy) Conderman;.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with Pastor Jack M. Briggs, officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded. Private Burial will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
Memorials may be directed to Prairie Crossing Living and Rehab in Shabbona, IL.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
