Robert Molenda Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Best Funeral Services Peoria on Oct. 22, 2025.
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Kent Molenda, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Bob passed away on October 17, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering love.
Born in Oregon on October 3, 1940, to Leo and Jessica Molenda, Bob was one of many siblings in a lively household. The family moved to Missoula, Montana when he was young. He worked hard from an early age, putting himself through college and graduating from the University of Montana-an achievement he was proud of all his life. (Go Grizz!) After college, Bob made his way to Seattle, Washington, where he built a life rooted in family, community, and purpose. It was there he met the love of his life, Jackie, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage and a deep bond that stood the test of time. Together, they raised two children, Kelly (Julie) and Kimi, who were the pride of his life.
Bob built a successful 40-year career as a State Farm insurance agent, where he became known not just for his professionalism, but for his easy charm and genuine care for others. He never met a stranger-just someone he hadn't talked to yet.
A lifelong athlete and sports enthusiast, Bob had a deep love for Seattle's sports teams, especially the University of Washington Huskies. He was a proud season ticket holder for decades. In his younger years, he was also an avid runner, having completed numerous races including two marathons. When he wasn't running, you could often find him on the golf course, enjoying the game and the company of his friends.
But more than anything, Bob cherished his family. His favorite title was "Grandpa," and he adored his four grandsons-Cole, Clay, Tyler, and Cash-with all his heart. To him, they were perfect and he celebrated their every achievement with unmatched joy and pride.
Bob had a warm smile, a quick wit, and a heart full of generosity. He was the kind of person who lit up a room just by walking into it. He loved people deeply, talked to everyone, and had a special talent for making others feel special. He also had a sweet tooth for life's little pleasures-especially ice cream, blackberry milkshakes, and apple fritter donuts.
Our lives are forever changed by his absence, but they are also forever enriched by his presence. Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He was deeply loved, and he will be missed more than words can express.
