Funeral Service with Masonic Rites for Robert Moody, age 93 of Cumby, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Burns officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Long Cemetery with Troy Autry, Cody Lee Moody, Ronnie Bowlen, Daniel Click, Bob Willett, and J.B. Miles serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Moody passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab.
Robert Walter Moody was born in Dallas, TX on August 21, 1930 to Robert Potter Moody and Clara Marie (Luna) Moody. He served 14 years in The United States Air Force as a Military Policeman, Investigator, and Airman. He married Wynell Moody in Wichita Falls in 1960. Robert worked as a mail carrier and postal arbitrator for the United States Post Office. He was a 60 year, Master Mason of Lodge 180 in Cumby, TX. He was also a member of the Brashear Baptist Church and Texas Farm Bureau.
Mr. Moody is survived by his daughters, Sandra Wierzbicki and Deborah Barton, both of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Troy Autry (Tran), Ronnie Bowlen (Sherri), Cody Lee Moody (Julie), Dejon Click (Daniel), Ashley Barton; great-grandchildren, Ashton Smerek (Landon), Dalton Bowlen, Cielo Pena, Rielan Pena, Madison Copley, Jonathon Spencer, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
