Robert Franklin Morris

Robert Franklin Morris, age 89, of Baxley passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his residence under the care of Hospice of South Georgia.

Mr. Morris was born April 11, 1933 in Appling County to the late Lee Roy Morris and the late Pearl Brigman Morris.  He was a member of  First Baptist Church and was a member of the Baxley Lions Club. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the United State Army and was a retired supervisor from CSX Railroad.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Foster Morris, and a granddaughter, Jill Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Hilda Branch Morris of Baxley; daughter, Gail (Danny) Smith of Baxley; sons, Malcolm "Ace" Morris of Augusta and Joffre (Angela) Morris of Baxley. Six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 24, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wigley, and Rev. Lamar Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Eddie Pearson, Chat Carter, Aaron Smith, Noah Smith, Matt Morris and Ricky Branch.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fisherman Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Swain Funeral Home.
