Robert David Mortensen, age 39, of Sparta, New Jersey, died on Monday, December 16, 2024 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Robert was born in Denville, New Jersey to David and Christine Lynn Mortensen, and was raised in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Township with his two siblings. After graduating from Morris Hills High School, Robert entered the trades. He had found himself a new talent and passion working on cars, motorcycles, and boats-anything with a wire he could work on. His passion grew and so did the business he started from the ground up, any goal he set for himself was accomplished.
Robert could often be found on his motorcycle, he enjoyed taking his rides, never taking for granted the wind or the freedom he felt. His greatest joy though was his daughter. Hannah was his greatest and deepest love, and that was apparent to anybody who knew him. Those closest to Robert know that he was born to be a Dad and that Hannah was the light of his life. The two would spend countless days on the beach during their cherished Wildwood trips.
Robert will be remembered as a true warrior who lived and fought not just for himself but for those he loved.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Jennifer Mortensen.
He is survived by his spouse Claire Wilson; one daughter, Hannah Jennifer Mortensen; his parents, Christine and David John Mortensen; one sister, Carilyn Libysen (Julian); and his nephew, Brayden Libysen, niece Everly Libysen, aunt Meri Tango, and uncle Steve Tango.
