Robert J. Mosher, age 86 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 in his home. He had been seriously ill for two months and under hospice care for the past three weeks.
Born August 27, 1936 in Monroe, Bob was the son of the late Basil and Grady (Jones) Mosher. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1954 where he played baseball, basketball and football. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia A. Boberg on September 17, 1955 in Monroe.
A Journeyman Electrician, Bob co-owned and operated Mosher Electric in Monroe with his brother Charles, retiring in 1997.
Bob was a life member of First Baptist Church of Monroe where he held several leadership positions. He was instrumental in starting Men's Work Bee, a church maintenance program that convened every Wednesday after breakfast. Bob was a member of Green Meadows Golf Club and I.B.E.W. Local 8. He also enjoyed league bowling at Nortel Lanes and Monroe Sports Center.
Bob is survived by his wife Pat; three children, Crystal (Dennis) Caldwell of Monroe, Carrie Jurich of Monroe, and Craig (Laurie) Mosher of Temperance; his brother, Charles Mosher of Monroe; eight grandchildren: Courtney (Paul) Bogden, Codie (Derick) Seymour, Megan (Kris) Ilstrup, Mitchell (Irene Jones) Jurich, Matthew Jurich, Sarah (Jacob) Mortemore, Amelia (Justin) Smith, and Nicholas Mosher; ten great-grandchildren: Hadley, Ryann, Emersyn, Marley, Silas, Carwin, Loralie, Benjamin, Lydia, and Oliver.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2nd at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday. Rev.'s Kim and Cindy Semran, Co-Pastors of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church.
