Robert Lauro Muro
November 17th, 1947-October 2nd, 2024
Our hearts are heavy to announce that Robert Lauro Muro “aka”Bob, passed peacefully on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024 at the age of 76. Son to Lauro Refugio and Margaret Mary Muro (Rooney) whom he joins in the kingdom of Heaven. Robert was born November 17th, 1947 in Akron, Ohio. Shortly thereafter moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico with his family for 3+ years then moved to Havana Cuba until 1960, and then returned to San Juan Puerto Rico where he graduated high school from Colegio San Ignacio. He then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to attend Xavier University where he received a Masters in Education, and met the love of his life, and wife of 53 years, Jane Isca Muro (Errgang).
A dedicated teacher of Spanish for 35 years, and sensational soccer coach for 50+ years, (Finneytown HS, Walnut Hill HS, University of Cincinnati), Robert always put others before himself. In 2010, Robert was humbly inducted into the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame. Robert touched the lives of so many students, players, coaches, and parents, it is impossible to fathom. His passion for life, and his dedication and compassion for others, most importantly his family, was simply unmatched.
Survived by his beloved Wife, Jane Isca Muro (Errgang), sons- Aaron Lauro Muro, and Kevin Robert Muro. Sister-Mary Angela Splude (Muro). Daughter in law- Nori Shortt Muro (wife of Aaron), Granddaughter-Nina Lucia Muro (daughter to Aaron and Nori). Brother in law to David Errgang, Martha Yoshimura (Errgang), and John Splude. Uncle to Michelle DeMent (Splude), Bob Splude, Christopher Errgang, Rebecca Errgang, Amy Newman, Michael Newman, and Benjamin Newman.
To say that Dad, Robert, Bob, Bobby, Uncle Bob, “Coach Bob” will be missed, is the understatement of the century!
Services will be Friday October 11th, 2024. Mass will be held at St. Clare Church in College Hill (1443 Cedar Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224) at 11:00am EST, followed by a Celebration of Life in the St. Clare gym 1pm-5pm. Light lunch and PLENTY of beverages will be served. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association. https://diabetes.org/ . Condolences at hodapfuneralhome.com
