Robert Muth

Robert LeRoy Muth, 72, was taken from us tragically and suddenly on December 14, 2025 as a result of an accident in Cumming, GA. He is predeceased by his parents Pauline and Leroy Muth. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Catherine Croke Muth, his four children, Amanda (Ed), Robert (Erin), Michael (Marybeth), and Benjamin; grandchildren, Isabella, Conner, and Sophia. Rob is also survived by his sisters, Tina Allen (Michael), of Charlotte, MI, Paula Moor Muth of Siggenthal Station, Switzerland, and niece, Nicki.

Rob graduated in 1972 from Sexton High School in Lansing, MI. He worked at his family's business, Muth Oil Company, until it was sold to Lansing Ice and Fuel. He knew early on that he wanted to work in law enforcement and volunteered for the Mounted Division of the Ingham County Sheriff's Department (Michigan) for crowd and traffic control.

Rob moved to Florida to further pursue a career in law enforcement. He graduated from Palm Beach State College Police Academy in 1981 and secured a position at the Boca Raton Police Department rising to the position of sergeant. He served his community diligently until his retirement in 2002 after 21 years of distinguished service. Soon after, he attained a position at LexisNexis in Alpharetta, GA, and he moved his young and growing family to Cumming, GA. He held subsequent positions at First Advantage, Equifax, and finally the Forsyth County Sheriff's Department as a Blue Coat Security Officer for the Courthouse when he retired in 2024.

Ever the man to keep busy and work for his community, Rob was a member of many volunteer organizations. He served in the Forsyth County Sheriff's First Responder group, ARES ham radio group, and CHIP's Department until December 13, 2025. Rob was working with the CHIP traffic control group at the City of Cumming's Christmas Parade when he was tragically struck by a vehicle and succumbed to his injuries the next day on December 14, 2025. It should also be noted that Rob was a proud member of the Forsyth County Jeepers group, further extending his commitment to community outreach.

The family is being cared for by McDonald & Son Funeral Homes & Crematory. Rob's memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Cumming (1597 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040).
