Mr. Robert "JuneBug" Lee Nelson , Jr. was born on May 27, 1955, in Mullins, South Carolina, to the late Robert Lee Nelson Sr. and Dosia Gerald Nelson. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Friday, June 20, 2025.

JuneBug was educated in the Marion County Public School System. In the early 1980s, he began working at the Mullins Leaf Tobacco Plant and later traveled with the company, working diligently until his health began to decline.

After his health improved, JuneBug found joy in the comfort of his home, spending his days watching his favorite daytime television shows, especially "The Young and the Restless." Known affectionately in his community, JuneBug served as the neighborhood watch-he was the eyes and ears of the block and stayed up to date on everything happening in the city of Mullins.

JuneBug accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, where he was baptized and attended faithfully until his health prevented him from doing so.

He was preceded in death by three sisters: Katie Brunson, Rose Nelson, and Janice Ellerbe; and two brothers: MJ Nelson and James Nelson.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter Janie Godbolt of Marion, SC. One devoted sister: Dora (Lacy) Rogers of Mullins, SC. One Aunt: Lorene (John) Livingston of Charlotte, NC. Four grandchildren: Michael, Marquis, Arkeem, and Jamal, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
