Robert Ford "Robbie" Neucere

1967 - 2023

Robert "Robbie" Ford Neucere, September 13, 1967 - July 22, 2023. Robert Ford Neucere passed away on July 22, 2023 at the age of 55. He is survived by his mother, Opal Robert Neucere, who heroically cared for him for 55 years, his brother Joseph F. Neucere, Jr., his sister-in-law, Kimberly Naquin Neucere, his sister, Dana Neucere, his brother-in-law, Aaron Roberts, his nieces, Ashlyn Neucere and Ashtyn Roberts, his nephews, Chase Neucere and Aidan Roberts and his devoted best friend and caregiver, Michelle Cobb. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Fred Neucere, Sr. Robbie was loved beyond measure and was cared for by his family, Michelle Cobb, Belle Maison Nursing Home and Hospice of Baton Rouge in his last year. The family cannot express enough gratitude for all of the caregivers who loved and took care of him. Robbie was not easily understood due to being non-verbal. In his last years, he had two best friends, Michelle Cobb and Aaron Roberts who loved and laughed with him and understood him as much as his family. In this life, his greatest pleasures were car rides and ice cream both of which he did with gusto! Everyone who loved him believes he will finally be able to speak, run and do all the things that eluded him in this life. Because of his sweet nature, you could not help but love Robbie. Those of us who loved him and grew up with him were shaped by his specialness. We would not be the people we are today were it not for him. He is a reminder to all of us that it is our duty to care for the disabled and understand their innocence and special needs. It is our hope that people are inspired to not only help the disabled but also the family members who care for them. A little compassion goes a long way. As Mark Twain said, "It's never wrong to do the right thing." A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on August 26, 2023 at the home of his sister Dana Neucere at 18931 Winterwood Court, Baton Rouge, LA 70817. All are welcome to attend.
