Robert Nohel Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goad Funeral Home - Scottsville on Dec. 3, 2025.
Robert Francis Nohel Jr., better known as Bob, passed away November 30th at his home in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was cared for by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda and his three sons Craig, Jeff and Kurt. Bob loved, laughed and fought his way through a three-month battle with cancer. Throughout this struggle he welcomed family and friends into his home and further touched our hearts and souls with his stories, humor, and willingness to love us and be grateful for all the blessings bestowed upon him throughout his life despite the difficulties of the moment.
It would be fair to say that Bob was a worker. He worked for GM for 25 years and willingly exchanged his time for the opportunity to provide for his family. However, Bob's true labor of love occurred outside of the formal work settings. He fixed the cars and small engines of many friends and family. He also loved a good project-He was our Bob the builder! He built many kitchen cabinets and helped remodel countless homes. He wasn't a licensed electrician, but he could have been. And the best part of it all was that he passed that knowledge and willingness to help others onto his sons, siblings, friends and neighbors. He unselfishly used his talents for the benefit of all he encountered.
He wasn't all work, however. Bob loved to grill, drink a beer and share a meal with those he loved. For Bob, an afternoon fishing with his lovely wife was about as close to heaven on earth as it gets. He shared that love of fishing with his sons, grandkids, nephews, siblings and friends. A day fishing with Bob and Linda was filled with fun, laughter and memories.
Bob's greatest and most important accomplishment, however, was his willingness to show and tell those around him that he loved them. Bob ended most phone conversations with love. His decision to love in word and deed, rippled through his marriage, his relationship with his sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, neighbors, and friends. The love he shared will echo through eternity and will be passed on through all the souls he touched. He will be missed.
