Funeral services for Robert W. Norman, 84, will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park, 601 US-80, Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Officiating the service will be Reverend Kenny Word Fox.
Robert was born on August 11, 1940, to Aswell Jacob Norman and Mary Agnes Norman in Shreveport, Louisiana, and went to live with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
Robert, alongside his late wife, Lucy Norman, co-owned and operated Gator Detail Supply for an impressive 28 years. Their partnership not only created a successful business but was also a testament to their deep bond as they worked side by side, tirelessly devoted to both their work and each other. Robert cherished Lucy who was his wife for 43 wonderful years. He expressed his love for her through song, often serenading her with heartfelt melodies. Together, they found joy in the simple pleasures of life, frequently enjoying episodes of their favorite television show, Gun Smoke.
A longtime, faithful member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church for over two decades, Robert’s life was deeply rooted in his faith. He offered his support and friendship to those around him, embracing the spiritual values that guided him.
In addition to his many accomplishments in business and faith, Robert was a proud father of five sons. His family was a source of immense pride and happiness, mirroring the love he shared with Lucy throughout their years together.
Robert W. Norman will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his dedication to his community and faith. His legacy of love and hard work will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Aswell and Mary Norman; beloved wife, Lucia “Lucy” Perez Norman; sons, Wesley Robert Norman, Michael Eugene Norman, and Paul Jacob Norman and brother, Ben Norman. He is survived by his sons, Brian Keith Norman and Todd Brenton Norman; his grandsons, Wesley Norman, Jr. and Jacob Norman and his granddaughters, Allie Norman, and Crystal Norman.
Honoring Robert as pallbearers will be Anthony Thompson, Wesley Norman, Jr., James Perez, David Miles, Derrick Croney, and Alfonso Sauseda, Jr.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Gospel Lighthouse Church, 4350 Panther Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana 71112.
