Obituary lovingly provided by the family of Robert Norman......

It is with full hearts and cherished memories that we celebrate the life of Robert Eugene Norman, 69, who played his final inning on November 28, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and proud veteran. A man of humor, heart, and unwavering loyalty, he was the cornerstone of his family and a friend to all who knew him.

Born in California, Robert lived a full life filled with purpose and pride. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force, he continued his life of service through a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service. His service shaped not only his work ethic but his outlook on life-steadfast, reliable, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

At the center of his life was his wife LaVerne, the love of his life and constant companion. They found joy in life's simple pleasures-traveling together, catching a good ballgame, and celebrating the moments that truly mattered. Their love set the tone for everything that followed. Family was always the heart of Robert's world, and he made it a priority to be there for the people he loved. He never missed a milestone - especially proud to attend each grandchild's high school graduation - a true testament to his steady presence and unwavering support. His teasing jokes, contagious laughter, "lol, luv dad" txt sign offs and engulfing, tight hugs were things we all could count on.

When he wasn't working or spending time with family, Robert could be found rooting passionately for his teams-the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. He bled red and gold, and his heartbeat to the rhythm of the crowd at Candlestick Park. Sundays were sacred, especially when the Niners took the field-win, lose, or armchair quarterbacking. He knew every play, every stat, and loved bantering with his family fantasy football team. He loved stirring the pot if you rooted for an opposing team and no one could match his energy on game day debates.

Baseball season brought its own joy-he was a true Giants diehard, even when "torture" was just part of being a fan. Whether it was Buster Posey behind the plate or the crack of the bat echoing through Oracle Park, he was right there in spirit-cap on, Giants Jersey and glove nearby, and filled with hope that whatever happened for the Giants – the Dodgers lost.

He is the pillar of this family. The steady voice of reason, the comfort in hard times, and his laughter lightened any room. He bridged more gaps than could be counted when a family member was in need or needed strength to back them. When there was something tough, you knew who would be there as your silent strength.

He is survived by his beloved wife LaVerne, his children, Chris (Rebekah) Norman, Kyle (Danielle) Norman, Bryan (Tara) Neill, Lisa Montgomery, Tina Montgomery, Julie Montgomery. 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, Sisters and sister-in-law, Cecily (Daryl) Norman, Nenna (Denis) Crowley, Vicky Racho, Becky Roberts, Julie (Bernie) O'Brien, his dog Surely, and countless family members and friends who were blessed to know him.

He is reunited with Raymond Norman (Father), Lula Ann "Mac" Norman (Mother), and Daryl Norman (Brother).

A Celebration of Life will be held April 21, 2026, in Neosho, MO just how Robert would have liked it-family, friends, stories, a few tears, and plenty of laughs. We'll toast him with a Honey Jack and Coke, swap a few "Remember when…" stories, and if we're lucky, hear him in the background grumbling, "Agh, what are they doing?", "Come On ref" or cheering with high fives, "Go Niners! Let's go Giants!"
