Rob was such a great lawyer and person. His smile and laugh were infectious. He influenced so many of us at the Smathers & Thompson firm by his focus and general good and gentle nature. I got to know Rob when he and I attended the Kiwanis Club of Miami luncheons. May God bless his family in this time of need and sorrow.

I just wanted to take a moment to share something that has been on my heart.

My brother, Deacon O´Malley, is incredibly special to my family and me. He baptized our first son a moment that will forever be one of the most meaningful days of our lives. That alone binds us to him in a way that words can´t fully express.

But beyond that, he was also the one who first taught me about Father Mike. At the time, I didn´t realize how much those small conversations and simple teachings would shape my faith journey. What seemed like small guidance then has had such a profound impact on my life now. The seeds he planted in my heart have truly grown in ways I never expected.

Please know that his influence continues to live on in my family. We carry his lessons, his faith, and his example with us every day. I will always be grateful for the role he has played in our spiritual journey.

With love and gratitude,
The Rojo family

We love you deacon O´Malley.

Deacon Rob was a gift from God to our community. He captured the attention of the room when he was preaching the Gospel, and his homilies always so thoughtful. You will be missed, but always remembered. Rest in peace Deacon Rob. Our condolences to Patty and all of his family.

Loved playing tennis with Robin and my sisters in the summer at Kings Bay Country Club. He was a dear friend . I am blessed to know that he served the Lord and the family of God all his life. He is now rejoicing with his Savior and loved ones that went before him. One day we will all be together again. Til then , love Deedee Duckworth Phillips

Rob was one of my father´s best friends and became a friend to our entire family over the years.
He was kind enough to deliver my father´s homily at his funeral mass in 2007 and preside over my mother´s graveside service last year. His presence at both gave my sisters and me great solace because he was truly a man of God with an incredible gift for words. He was caring and kind to everyone he met and left an impression on their lives. I know he went straight to heaven. He will be missed and I will keep Patty, Robbie, and Sarah in my prayers.
