Robert O'Brien Obituary
Nicholas and Isabel O'Brien. He passed away January 10, 2020 from a chronic
lung disease with his children by his side. Robert grew up with his twin brother Thomas and younger
brothers William and Michael in Los Angeles, California. After graduating
from Alexander Hamilton High School in 1955, he enlisted in the
United States Army and was stationed in Germany where he met and married
Heide Wallbaum. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Good Conduct
Medal. Robert and Heide had four children, Roger who passed at the age of
12, David, Corey and Robin.He was also blessed with five grandchildren.
Throughout his life Robert enjoyed playing golf and sported a 4 handicap.
He played in and won many golf tournaments throughout his life. He was
an avid sports fan watching all sports, but especially loved football.
Robert's favorite pastime was gaming. He owned every console and hundreds of games.
Jack Stroud was his online gaming name from when he was an early
beta tester for the MMORPG World of Warcraft game. He played for over 10
years and even enjoyed playing it with his grandson Connor. Although Robert enjoyed many things, family was always the most important to him.
Robert was blessed to be able to attend the wedding of all three of his surviving
children. He really enjoyed attending the bachelor parties of his son and nephews, as well as the weddings of both his nieces.
Robert never missed a single Thanksgiving gathering with his family.
He will be forever missed.
There will be a graveside service officiated by Pastor Ryan Hulett at Good
Shepherd Cemetery 8301 Talbert Avenue Huntington Beach, CA 92647 on
Saturday January 18, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a
celebration of life after the service at the house of his daughter Corey.
