Robert "Bob" O'Leary, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for 43 years, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, with family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Victoria M. "Vickie" (Dodd) O'Leary, with whom he would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on January 23, 2026.
Born in Somerville on July 8, 1939, he was the youngest of eight children of the late John P. O'Leary and the late Mary F. (Pierce) O'Leary. He was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School.
Bob was a member of Teamsters Union Local 25 for over thirty years, where he was employed as a truck driver for Carolina Freight Company and A.B.F. Transport Company. Following his retirement, he continued driving for a local florist in the Merrimack Valley.
Bob enjoyed many activities including playing cards and following the New England sports teams, especially the New England Patriots. He enjoyed animals and over the years championed many family pets including his dog, "Kelli" and his beloved bird, "Bud." He loved camping with his family and spent thirty-five summers at Cold Springs Campground in Weare, NH. Bob and his wife Vickie were active members of Local Heroes, a non-profit which supports local area servicemen and servicewomen serving our military abroad.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, John H. O'Leary and his wife Ariel Garneau, of Derry, NH, Erin L. O'Leary, of Charlestown, and Robert J.P. O'Leary and his partner, Michael Pellerin, of Chandler, AZ; along with two grandchildren, Lincoln and Alden O'Leary, of Derry, NH. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Calling hours are Saturday, December 13, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a prayer service to begin at 11 a.m. in the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Services will conclude with interment at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury.
