Robert Frank Oliver, 87 of Sterling, passed away Tues., June 12, 2024, peacefully at his home. A memorial and Inurnment will be held at 10:30 am, Monday June 24 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
Robert was born September 27, 1936, in Denver to Thomas Q. Oliver and Etta (Warren) Oliver. He Graduated from High School and enlisted in the Army serving four years in Germany. After his military service, he became a lineman for Public Service Energy and married Karen J. Oliver on December 15, 1961. Robert retired from Public Service Energy, now known as Xcel Energy after 37 years at the age of 58.
Robert and Karen were blessed with two children, Larry Richard and Gena Lou.
Robert enjoyed motorcycle riding and golfing. Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He took pride in his woodworking projects and his competitive edge when doing board and card games with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen, parents Thomas and Etta, along with brothers: Harold, Tommy, Bill, and Jack.
Robert is survived by; son Larry Oliver of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter Gena Zigray and husband Chris of Akron, CO; sister Joyce Buckley of Mary Esther, FL; sister-in-law Colleen Ehlers of Moorefield, NE; Grandchildren; Brandon Zigray and wife Haley and their sons Jaxon and Henry of Eau Claire, WI; Calli Dalal and Husband Jason and their daughter Emma of Sterling, CO; and Shilo Oliver of Colorado Springs, CO.
