Robert Oliver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sequim Valley Funeral Chapel on Dec. 16, 2025.
Robert Eugene Oliver of Sequim, Washington, beloved husband, decorated soldier, and successful entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, in Port Angeles. He was 75.
A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery on December 29, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
Robert was born April 12, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to Robert E. and Barbara J. (Voris) Oliver. He proudly served his country for two decades in the United States Army, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. His military service was defined by the same quiet reliability that anchored his personal life.
Following his military career, Robert became the first of his family to graduate from college, obtaining a degree in systems management. He successfully transitioned into the business world, founding his own web design company.
Beyond his service, Robert was an avid genealogist who delighted in uncovering the branches of his family tree and a dedicated stamp collector who found beauty in the history of postage stamps. At the insistence of his wife, he became a Mariners baseball fan, and he spent many peaceful hours beachcombing with his metal detector, searching for treasures washed up by the tide.
He possessed a dry, quick wit and a generous spirit. Though his humor was famously understated, his kindness was always abundantly clear. Above all, he was known for his steadfastness; he was the rock of his family, offering a sense of security that was best expressed through his famous, all-encompassing hugs.
Robert is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lisa-Ann, children Sandra and Robert, stepson Robert E. Mitchell, III and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
He is missed beyond measure but remembered with great love.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
