Roger Oliver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Quinn Funeral Home - Warwick on Jan. 7, 2026.
Roger B. Oliver Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Precilla (Small) Oliver, with whom he shared over 30 years of companionship.
Born in Providence to the late Calvin and Jettie (Mathias) Oliver, Roger is survived by his loving children, Tina-Marie Hobbs and her husband Jeremy, Heidi Laferriere and her husband Patrick, and Nicholas Giesinger and his wife Cheryl. Roger was the adoring grandfather of Kelcey, Ashley, Christian, Aiden, Cassidy, Evelyn, Nolan and Nicholas, as well as the great-grandfather of Valentina. Roger is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Russo, Calvin Oliver, Linda Oliver, David Oliver, and Dennis Oliver, as well as by his former wife, Christine Gomez. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Roger Oliver Jr., and by his brother, Kevin Oliver.
A lifelong resident of Warwick, Roger grew up in Oakland Beach, a place that always held a special spot in his heart. Family was the center of his life, whether he was metal detecting or selling cotton candy with his children, or traveling to Florida to visit his daughter Tina and his beloved grandchildren. A true jack-of-all-trades, Roger loved working with his hands and could fix just about anything. He shared this gift generously, always willing to help anyone in need.
Roger also had a remarkable ability to make people laugh. He was known for going all out, especially for children's birthday parties, often dressing up in costumes to be sure every child had the best time possible. Above all else, Roger deeply loved and cherished his family, with a special devotion to his grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, especially by his loyal dog, Henry, who remained faithfully by his side until the very end.
Services will be private at this time.
