Deborah Moone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home - Warwick on Mar. 10, 2026.
Deborah "Debbie" Moone, 66, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8th after an inspiring and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her illness, Debbie demonstrated remarkable strength, grace, and faith, facing each day with the same quiet resilience and love that defined her life.

Debbie shared nearly 46 wonderful years of marriage with her loving and devoted husband, John. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, faith, and unwavering support for one another.

She was a proud and deeply loving mother to Paul (Mary), Ashley Sosa (Jorge), and Thaddeus. Nothing brought Debbie greater happiness than her grandson, Sammy, who truly lit up her world and filled her heart with immeasurable joy. Her family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent together.

For more than 30 years, Debbie worked as a teacher's assistant at Fr. John V. Doyle School. She truly loved her work and the students she was blessed to serve. Debbie had a gift for making children feel cared for and supported, and her patience, kindness, and dedication touched the lives of countless students and families in the school community.

Debbie found happiness in life's simple joys. She was a gifted and hilarious storyteller. She loved starting new crochet projects, cooking for the people she loved, and traveling with her family to make lasting memories. Whether it was around the dinner table, on a family trip, or simply spending time together, Debbie's greatest joy was being surrounded by those she loved most. She leaned heavily into her faith and was dedicated to praying the rosary nightly.

Above all else, Debbie will be remembered for her loving heart, her deep devotion to her family, and the quiet strength and courage she carried throughout her life. She gave endlessly of herself to others and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and compassion.

Though her family and friends will miss her deeply, the love she shared and the lives she touched will continue to shine brightly in their hearts forever.

In addition to her husband and children, Debbie is survived by her sisters, Jean Magiera and Jamie Carlson, and her brother Brian Hodor. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Hodor. She was the beloved daughter of the late Mario and Florence Hodor. Debbie also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will remember her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the funeral home.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 8:30AM from the URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John and Paul Church,341 South Main St. Coventry.
