Robert Ralph Orndoff, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on December 18, 1933, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Robert lived a simple life and loved his family.
Robert's journey was one of courage and commitment. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, embodying the values of honor and duty. Following his service, he continued his career as a chemist at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, Maryland, where his work contributed to the nation's security and innovation.
In his leisure, Robert found solace and excitement on the golf course, a place where he often sought both tranquility and challenge. He was an avid football fan, relishing in the thrill of the game, and enjoyed many hours playing billiards with friends and family. His interest in antique cars spoke to his appreciation for history and craftsmanship, reflecting his ability to see beauty and value in all things.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Belle Orndoff; four brothers, John Orndoff, Jerry Orndoff, Wayne Orndoff and Robert Shelton; and his sister, Reva Murray, Robert is now reunited with them in peace. He leaves behind a loving family who cherished him dearly: his daughter, Stacey Orndoff of North Carolina; two sons, Robert A. Orndoff of Texas, and Michael Orndoff of Florida; and a grandson, Michael Stanley Orndoff. His memory will also be treasured by his two sisters, Nora Smolick and Carolyn Kohr of Pennsylvania, and his brother, Jimmy Orndoff of South Carolina.
While we mourn the loss of Robert, we celebrate a life well-lived. His legacy is one of strength, warmth, and integrity. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to honor his memory in a personal and meaningful way.
