It is with great peace and comfort to share the passing of Bob Overholser. He's at peace now in heaven, laughing and telling stories with family and friends that have preceded him. Bob was a loving husband, devoted father, brother to his dear sisters, friend to many, past and present. Bob loved to fish, whether it was salt, fly, or fresh. He traveled all over the world to get that Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna or Tarpon. His love of boating was a lifelong pursuit, whether it was sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, waterskiing behind his Sea Ray in his teens and 20's. Sailing and racing in his 30's and cruising the waters of the Chesapeake, Florida, and exploring the Bahamas. He enjoyed bird and skeet shooting in England, Scotland, Argentina and all around the states.

After high school, Bob joined the US Navy for 4 years serving on the USS Newport News from 1961-1964 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Bay of Pigs. After the Navy, he joined Western Electric / AT&T Network Systems / Lucent Technology for 36+ years. He finished out his career as a contractor for an optical provider.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Carol Hudgens Overholser, of 43 years. Two daughters, Anne (Ken) Geisinger, Stephanie (Chuck) Brookey and two sisters, Sharon Overholser and Linda Thomas (Michael Moran) and nieces and nephews (Damien (Ron & Esme), Johnny, Timmy, Melissa). Preceding him are his parents, Robert T. and Helen (Davis) Overholser and sister, Carol Lee Borig.

Funeral services will be Friday, 04/24/2026 at Holy Name of Jesus, starting with visitation at 10:30am, a funeral service at 11:00am followed by lunch and a celebration of a great life. No black please, happy colors to celebrate a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, Bob's favorite charity is Tunnels to Towers. www.t2t.org
