Robert M. Owsley, age 94 of Monroe, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at Brookdale Senior Living.
Born May 17, 1931 in New Tazewell, TN, Bob was the son of the late Anderson and Alifair (McDaniel) Owsley. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp and married Eula G. Wilson on April 30, 1951 in Middlesboro, KY. Together they raised four children. Sadly, she preceded Bob in death on October 14, 2002.
Bob was a truck driver for over 40 years for various companies including the former Jones Transfer. In his personal time he enjoyed fishing and boating.
Bob is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Dale) Libstorff of Monroe; son, Douglas Owsley of Monroe; sister, Arzella Broyles of Vandalia, OH; five grandchildren: Lisa (Rev. Christopher) Fairbairn, Gregory (Barb) Libstorff, Danelle Saylor, Kalvin (Holly) Owsley, and Farrynn Sheridan; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ruth Owsley of Monroe.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bob is preceded in death by two daughters, Diane Turnerand Karen Redmond; two sisters, Helen Raines and infant Janice; brother, Kelsie Owsley; grandson, Robert Owsley; and recently, his companion of 20 years, Virginia Picklesimer.
All are welcome to visit from 11 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 30th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Bob's cousin, Rev. Steve Ousley will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
