Fuquay Varina, North Carolina - Robert Theodore Parrott, 87, of Jonquil Court, died January 7, 2026 at Fuquay-Varina Rehabilitation Center.
Born October 5, 1938 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Hazel Mordean White Parrott and Ulysses Jones Parrott, Sr.
Robert was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1957 at Dabney High School and a 1959 graduate of Brevard College.
He was a member of the Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church, and a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. He retired from the North Carolina Department of Corrections as the North Central Area Administrator after more than 38 years of service. Robert was awarded the distinguished Order of the Long Leaf Pine in May 1998 by Governor James B. Hunt.
To honor his wishes, no services are planned at this time.
Robert is survived by his wife, Charlotte C. Parrott of the home; his son, Stephen E. Parrott and wife Tara of Littleton, CO; his granddaughter, Amelia; sisters-in-law, Jennie W. Parrot and Brenda C. Hawkins; brother-in-law, Tommy Hawkins; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as their spouses and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by three brothers, Jere P. Parrott, Charles G. Parrott and U.J. Parrott, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Rachel M. Parrott and Betty H. Parrott; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Furman and Fannie Cothran.
