Robert M. Peffer

It is with heavy hearts and loving memories that the family of Robert Merle Peffer, 91, of Latrobe, announces his passing, leaving this world peacefully at home, on April 16, 2025, surrounded by the love of his life, Dorothy, and his cherished family.
Born in 1934, Bob was a man who wore many hats-father, husband, craftsman, storyteller, outdoorsman, and the eternal life of the party. Above all else, Bob was a family man. Every decision he made and every step he took was grounded in his unwavering love for his family. He was a rock to lean on, a compass for guidance, and the heart that beat at the center of every gathering.
He is survived by his adoring wife of 68 years, Dorothy Zadora Peffer, and four children, Diane Peffer Hohman, David Robert Peffer and his wife, Nancy, Debra Peffer Caplan and her husband, Sanford, and Donna Peffer Meisinger and her husband, William. He was also blessed with nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his brother, Kenneth Peffer and his wife, Elizabeth, of Parma Heights, Ohio.
Bob proudly served his country as a medic in the US Army, and then following his discharge, he worked in construction. He later served as Director of Auxiliary Services for Greater Latrobe School District. In his final working years, he held the position of plant manager at Latrobe Plastics Co.
Bob and Dorothy were devout Catholics of St. John the Evangelist Church and later Sacred Heart Church. Bob enjoyed singing with the Latrobe Community Chorus for many years and often could be heard simply whistling a favorite tune. He took great pride in his green grass and perfect landscaping. He and Dorothy loved camping and boating and gathering with friends and family.
Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. Members of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:30 PM on Tuesday in the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 421 Main Street, Youngstown. Everyone is asked to please go directly to church. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church.
