Robert Lee Pennington, age 83, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at home surrounded by family. He was born on January 8, 1942 in Waverly, Ohio to Harry and Agnes (Bloomfield) Pennington. Robert was a 1961 graduate of Beaver High School.
He worked for C & O railroad and other different jobs. He married Melanie K. Morris on Oct 25, 1983 and they started a family. In his younger years Robert was a farmer. He also planted a little garden at home, so that he could can and eat the vegetables he grew. He liked working on cars or anything he could get his hands on. He had one saying, “I may have had to do some afro-engineering on it”. He helped coaching his son’s baseball team and helped in Boy Scouts. He enjoyed being with family. He loved to take walks and to talk with people.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie K. Pennington; children. Terry (Kathy) Pennington, Greg (Michelle) Pennington, Kevin (Lillian) Pennington, Michelle Bethal, Mathew (Brian) Pennington, Jason Pennington, Josh (Tab) Pennington, Mark ( Jen) Pennington, and Patrick (Micki) Pennington; brother, Joe (Avanella) Pennington; also surviving are 23 grandkids, 18 great-grandkids, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William Pennington, sister Ellen Hodges, grandson Corey, and many more family and friends.
Family and friends may visit at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd. in Oregon, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow services at Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Robert's memory can be made to the care of the family.
