Robert Plummer Obituary

Robert Joseph Plummer, 73, of Independence, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and veteran, passed away on January 30, 2025. Born on February 20, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky, Robert's life revolved around his family and his passion for anything with an engine.

He served in the United States Air Force. Robert also enjoyed a successful career as a technician with Cincinnati Bell, where he was known for his expertise. His work ethic and contributions to the field earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Robert was passionate about riding motorcycles, finding joy and freedom on the open road. This love for adventure was a testament to his spirited nature and his zest for life. He was also an avid reader.

Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Catherine Maxine Plummer (Cordrey), his daughter Theresa Elaine Plummer (James Shackelford), his son Jason Alexander Plummer (Amanda), granddaughters Madison, Abigail, Sarah, and Morgan, beloved fur baby Gracie, brother Alfie Plummer (Sharon), and sisters Jane Garner, Christie Finnell, and Ruthann Barone, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Alfie and Ruth Morris Plummer, and his brothers John Plummer and James Plummer.

A visitation will be held in his honor Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00pm, both taking place at Floral Hills Funeral Home Chapel A, located at 5336 Old Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. Family and friends are invited to gather to remember and celebrate the life of Robert Joseph Plummer, a man who always had a joke or story to tell to anyone who was too polite to walk away.
