Robert Poll Obituary

Visit the Lindquist Mortuary - Layton website to view the full obituary.

Born on a beautiful Monday morning, February 2, 1942, Robert Warner Poll was welcomed into this world by his loving parents, Verl and June Poll. From the very beginning, Bob’s life was rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He enjoyed a happy childhood filled with sports, long days working on the family dairy farm, and opportunities to serve others. In those early years, he developed the traits that would define his life: diligence, sacrifice, patience, and a deep love for people.

As a young man, Bob faithfully served a mission in the British Isles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That experience strengthened his testimony and deepened his love for the gospel. Shortly after returning home, sparks flew over a campfire when he realized he had feelings for a cute redhead named Judy Montgomery Ferrin. He married the love of his life on August 8, 1964, beginning a devoted partnership that would bless countless lives. Together, Bob and Judy raised eight children—each of whom is quite certain they are the favorite.

Bob was a salesman at heart. He could sell you just about anything—not because he was slick or persuasive in the usual sense, but because people trusted him. They knew he genuinely loved and cared about them, and he believed wholeheartedly in what he offered. He began his career selling life insurance for Farm Bureau, later transitioned to selling snowmobiles for the Coleman Company, and eventually found his niche in motorhome sales at Motor Sportsland, Rick Warner, Cutrubus Motors and Blaine Jensen RV. His success came from integrity, loyalty enthusiasm, and his sincere love for people.

Bob and Judy’s greatest shared joy was serving together in the Church. They were called as mission leaders in Detroit, Michigan, where they loved and mentored missionaries as if they were their own children. Later, they served as directors of the Independence Missouri Visitors’ Center, another calling they cherished deeply. Their service touched countless lives and forged lasting bonds of faith and friendship.

Bob loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. He spent many hours studying what he affectionately called his “answer book”—the scriptures. He often quoted them while offering counsel, guidance, or comfort to those he loved. Throughout his life, he served faithfully in many callings, including Scoutmaster—earning the Silver Beaver Award—Bishop, Stake President, Stake Patriarch, and sealer in the Ogden Temple. His testimony was unwavering, and his life was a reflection of his devotion.

Bob’s legacy is one of faith, service, integrity, hard work, and boundless love for his family. He leaves behind a heritage of testimony and devotion that will continue to bless generations to come. He was welcomed into Heaven February 17, 2026, by his amazing wife Judy, his parents Verl and June Poll, 3 brothers Milt, Kelly and Lloyd, 2 granddaughters Taylor and Heather and many loved ones.

He is survived by his favorite children Becky (Brad) Francis, Stan (Lisa) Ferrin, Sandey (Tom) Johansen, Clint (Kelli) Poll, Val (Heather) Poll, Sharon (Troy) Toone, Dominic (Rachel) Poll and Jen (Matt) Miller. He leaves a lasting heritage with his 38 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his incredible siblings Rich (Wendy)Poll, Calvin (D’Lynn) Poll, Kent (Ellen) Poll, Dennis (Jill) Poll, Shelly (Steve) Hopkin and Tammy (Dave) Siebert.

Funeral services will be held Saturday February 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Morgan Stake Center, 355 N. 700 E., Morgan, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday February 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to the service.
