Robert Pollo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gorman Funeral Homes - Converse Chapel - Douglas on Sep. 28, 2024.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert John Pollo, 69, who departed this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in his home in Douglas, Wyoming. Born on Tuesday, May 31, 1955, in Brush, Colorado, Robert lived a life full of adventure and authenticity.
A proud graduate of Douglas High School, Class of 1974, Robert started his career in the oil industry, working as an oilfield operator and rig hand. Eventually moving on as a uranium well tender, and retired as a heavy equipment operator from Black Thunder Coal Mine. He was known for his strong work ethic and reliability, earning the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside him.
Robert was known for his honesty and straightforwardness; when he spoke, you always knew where he stood on any topic, be it right, wrong, or indifferent. He cherished the company of others, finding great joy in sharing tasks and activities, believing that life's moments were best enjoyed together.
Robert was a passionate outdoorsman, relishing every opportunity to hunt deer and elk, upland birds, fish for walleye, and, more recently, embrace the thrill of ice fishing for big lake trout. He loved taking side-by-side rides in the mountains, often sharing these experiences with his family and friends. His enthusiasm for playing horseshoes brought joy to many gatherings, where his competitive spirit shone brightly.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Cheryl Pollo; his children, Robert Pollo (Kayla), Aretha Coy (Bill), and Zack Pollo; and his cherished grandchildren, Dustin and Cooper Pollo. He is also survived by his brothers, Dave Pollo (Janine) and Mark Pollo (Shirley).
Robert's honesty, straightforwardness, and willingness to help others will be deeply missed, as will his stubborn yet lovable spirit.
Robert will be remembered as a hard worker, a loving husband, and an affectionate father. He wanted nothing more than to be known for his dedication to his family and his passion for life.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held at the LaBonte Bar on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. His ashes will be spread on the Pollo Family Trust land the following day, a place that held special meaning for him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share your fondest memories of Robert, keeping his spirit alive in our hearts.
The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming assisted with the arrangements.

With heartfelt condolences; Wishing you and your family as much peace as possible during this difficult time. Words cannot express our sadness to hear about Robert's passing. We are fortunate to have met and enjoyed time with Robert. We were on the same page regarding our Buffalo Trails properties and glad to have him by my side when unwelcomed visitors showed up during hunting season 2023. Our last time together was playing horseshoes and he was a worthy opponent! Apologies we are not able to make the service on 10/12 as we had a previous commitment. Dave, Tami Noel & Family"
