Robert "Bobby" Porter Sr of Darby passed away unexpectedly on February 8th, 2024. He was only 63 years old.
His family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
Bobby was born on January 8th, 1961 he was a big Elvis Presley fan, only rightfully so that they shared a birthday. Growing up you could often hear him singing away on his karaoke machine to Elvis. If you didn't know any better you would think that it was Elvis himself in our house, that's how much he sounded like him. We can only hope that he now gets a chance to sing with Elvis in Heaven.
Bobby was an amazing cook, he loved to go fishing, he could build and fix anything, he was a devoted family man who would do anything for anyone. He was the most selfless man that we have ever known, and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He was a great example of a man that followed God and there is no doubt his legacy followed him to Heaven.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am"
Bobby was a 1981 graduate of Darby-Colwyn High School, he went on to work at Provident/PNC Bank in Philadelphia for 23 years.
Pre-deceased by his mother Patricia "Pat" Porter, and his brother William "Billy" Porter
Beloved husband of Linda (nee Gibson), loving father of Shannon (Jimmy) Goldey, and Robert Porter Jr, also survived by his brother Patrick (Kathie) Porter, his father and step-mother William and Cathie Porter, his loving grandchildren who were the absolute joy of his life, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
