Joseph Anthony Ferrente, age 71, of Norwood, PA, formerly of Long Island, passed away on Friday September 5th, 2025.
Joseph was born on April 9th, 1954 in Long Island, NY to Silvester and Audrey Ferrente (nee Jackson). Where he grew up with his parents and brother Daniel.
He attended Stony Brook University, before embarking on a successful 35-year career as a software salesman. His most fulfilling role was at Sun Microsystems, where he not only excelled professionally but also formed lifelong friendships.
He loved music especially Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles. Guided by his love of cooking, he had the opportunity to live and work in Italy-one of the most treasured times of his life.
He found his greatest joy in retirement, cherishing time spent with his family-especially his beloved grandson, Jackson.
Survived by his son, Matthew (Catherine "Casey" Johnston) Ferrente, his grandsons, Chase Rau and Jackson Ferrente, his brother, Daniel Ferrente, his nieces, Alexandra and Erin Ferrente, and his former wife, Eileen VanCott.
Relatives & friends are invited to his Viewing Saturday, September 13 th 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM followed by his Funeral Service 1:00 PM in the Main Chapel at the DAnjolell-Barone Memorial Home 908 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086. Inurnment Private.

I worked with Joe at Sun Microsystems and as the new guy in the NY office, Joe was very welcoming and helped me greatly to meet many of the other salespeople and tech staff. Joe always had a story to tell and was very willing to share his experiences and know how.
We soon became friends outside of work where we shared similar tastes for music, food and red wine. Joe had a big personality which I was always envious of but his love of family stood out beyond anything else.
Many, many great memories...

I worked with Joe at Sun Microsystems in the New York office in the early '90s. I worked as Systems Engineer (SE) on Joe's account during that time: Goldman Sachs. Joe was tireless in bringing quality to our customers, and he did it with grace, and class, and good cheer. He always treated colleagues with respect. I appreciated working with him, and am proud of our achievements. Rest well, Joe!
