Robert Powers Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 16, 2025.
East Millinocket – Robert "Bob/Bubba" Powers, 76, passed away peacefully at Millinocket Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Bubba was born in Lincoln on February 3, 1949, the son of Allen and Charlotte(Wakefield) Powers.
Bubba grew up in East Millinocket and was a graduate of Schenck High School, Class of 1968. Following high school he went to NMVTI to continuing his education. Following his time there, he went to work for Great Northern Paper as a Mill Wright, working there until it's final closure in 2014. After the mill closed, he took classes at Region three for cabinet making and then worked for the school department in East Millinocket in a janitorial role and mowing lawns before he "retired." He continued to work and by work he loved to putter and do odd jobs.
Bubba loved to hunt, fish, utilize "Bubba's Boat" when he could, tinker on small engines, do wood and metal work, go camping and he was an avid talker. Some may say if he was running to the store for bread, expect him to be gone a couple of hours.
His love for his family and his stories will be greatly missed by his wife 51 years, Sharon (McLeod) Powers; his sons, John and his wife, Tammy, Tim Powers and his wife Susan, Rob Powers and Lance Powers and his wife Tammy; grandchildren, Sandra Austin and significant other, Kirk MacKenzie, Coty Powers and wife Kailie, Shelby Powers and her husband, Izaiah, Grayson Powers, Charlotte Powers, Austin Smith, William Smith, Tyler Smith, Connor Smith and Allyson Smith; great granddaughter, Willow Powers; brothers, Charles Powers, Ray Wakefield and Walt Ballard; special nieces Emma and Carolyn and may other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Eleanor James, Don Stanhope, David Powers and Stephen Wakefield.
Friends may call Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4-7PM at Mattawamkeag Church of God, 284 Main St., Mattawamkeag, ME. Interment will take place in the summer of 2026 at East Millinocket Cemetery.
