Massena: Robert E. "Bob" Premo, age 91, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at North Country Nursing and Rehab where he had been a patient for seven weeks. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, from 11:00am until time of funeral services beginning at 1:00 pm at the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Burial will be held in Brookside Cemetery, with full military honors at the convenience of the family.
Robert was born on February 4, 1934, in Ogdensburg, to Lawrence and Mrytle (Driver) Premo. After high school graduating from Ogdensburg Free Academy, he enlisted in the US Navy in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1956, having served in the Korean War. Bob worked at ACCO and then to Corning until his retirement, from the Engineering Department. Robert had a love for reading western books and novels. He also loved carpentry from working on small project to even larger ones such as building a home in Canton. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing Bob was such a gentleman and compassionate person.
Years ago, he helped coached minor hockey in Ogdensburg and was also a lifetime member of the Massena VFW Post No. 1142. He loved being around family and friends. Bob married Constance "Connie" Ladouceur on November 15, 1986.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, his sons, Rob and wife Cindy Premo of Lisbon, NY, Craig and wife Teresa Premo of Ogdensburg, NY, Katherine and husband Guy Kelley of Ogdensburg, NY, step-daughter, Michèle Graves-Rivers and Kevin Rivers of Mechanicville, NY, 12 grandchildren, and one step-grandchild, along with several great-grandchildren, and his sister Susan Yeldon, of Whitby, Ontario.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Massena DAV Chapter No. 171; 101 W. Hatfield, Massena, New York 13662.
