Bert J. Sullivan

Louisville: Bert J. Sullivan Jr., age 96, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. A Mass to celebrate eternal life will be held at the convenience of the family. At his request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Phillips Memorial Home in Massena.

He was born on September 22, 1929 to Bert and Flora Sullivan. He graduated from Massena High School in 1947. He married the love of his life, Mary Haley on October 22, 1949, at the Church of the Sacred Heart with the late Rev. Joseph Dowd officiating.

Bert was employed at ALCOA in metallurgical department for over 37 years. Bert had a shop to refinish furniture for many years. After retirement from ALCOA, he dedicated his time, to building furniture out of barwood. Strickly Barwood by MARBER was displayed and sold at the Market Barn in Malone for many years. He also enjoyed golfing with his buddies.

Bert is survived by his son Patrick and Patty Sullivan of Brushton, NY, daughter Sr. Cindy Sullivan, BVM, of Massena, NY and grandchildren Jason, Kyle and Carrie Sullivan. In addition to his parents, Bert was predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Donald Sullivan and a daughter Mary Lynn Svarczkopf.
