Mr. Procell was born June 9, 1954 in Shreveport, LA and passed away January 19, 2024. Charles Procell was not a man of great physical stature, but his character and principles made him larger than life. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. If you measure a man by the company he keeps, Lil Charles had a great status. From Micheal "Bird" Birdsong, a loyal and dedicated friend he loved like a brother for decades or Judy Cox a woman who he loved like a sister who never left his side even as God called him home. He was never afraid of hard work, long hours, or whatever it took to get the job done. Spending his youth as an operator in construction and was from all accounts one of the most skilled in the business. Even in retirement, he worked as the backbone of his favorite place, C&J's Wateringhole, a place he cared for and maintained to a standard that received praise from customers and employees alike. Lil Charles knew the value of a hard day's work, a good friend, and a good time! He will be missed beyond measure and I know he is grateful for every prayer and the amount of love he received. (written by Dustin "Doughboy" Taylor)
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Procell; four brothers, Joe Procell, Jr., Robert Earl Procell, Roy John Procell and Albert Procell, Jr.; half-brother, Rufus Procell; and half sister, Ruby Procell Spears.
Mr. Procell is survived by his daughter, Shannon Procell; son, Robert Procell, Jr.; one brother, Wilmer Procell; two sisters, Mary Ann Procell and Barbara Kelly and husband, Michael; two grandchildren; and a dear friend, Judy Cox.
Pallbearers will be David Martin, Lucas Thomas, Richard Wayne Procell, Will Bamburg, Jeff Hines, and Durwood Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Birdsong, Curtis Carver, and Dustin Ray Taylor.
