Robert "Bob" David Puryear, 78, of Bentonville, passed away on August 20, 2025, at Bradford Health and Rehab in Bentonville. He was born on August 5, 1947, in Bentonville, Arkansas, the son of David Young Puryear and Dorothy Lee Clevenger Puryear.
Bob retired from Emerson Electric and had also worked for Walmart and Pathfinders Inc. He served the community of Bella Vista as an EMT and proudly served his country as a Helicopter Crew Chief in the United States Army.
He attended Radiant Life Church in Bentonville. Bob enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows and swap meets, and riding his Harley with his brother and friends. A quiet and simple man, he was kind to all and never asked for much. He loved fried chicken and Coca-Cola, and his many life skills included holding both a pilot's license and scuba diving certification. He had an eye for detail, often kept to himself, and was known for his favorite saying: "It's neither here nor there."
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and one brother, Johnny Philip Puryear.
He is survived by his brother, Tim Puryear and partner Becky; and four nieces: Jessica Puryear and partner Keith Jones, and her sons Dylan, Chase, and Dodge; Samantha Walker and husband Grant and their daughter Katie; Tiffany Severs and husband Shane and their children Aaron and Liliana; and Jenny Winchester and husband Brandon and their son Alex.
Memorial services will be held at 10am on September 6th at Radiant Life Church in Bentonville. Interment will follow in Bentonville Cemetery with full military honors.
