Robert “Bob” Reardon, Sr., 77, of Dellroy, passed away on February 20, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, following a period of declining health.

Born on July 17, 1947 in Dover Ohio, Bob was the son of the late John “Mousey” and Edith (Smail) Reardon.

Bob was known for his quiet kindness, warmth, and playful sense of humor throughout his life.

An honorably discharged Vietnam Veteran, Bob proudly served with the United States Army as an engineer, where his commitment to duty laid the foundation for the values he carried with him. Bob’s professional career after his service to the Army was spent operating heavy equipment and lastly as a skilled welder at Ravens Trailers in Dover.

Bob lived a life through small joys and embarked on various interests that reflected his deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. A passionate outdoorsman, Bob was a former member of B&A Primitive Weapons Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping, where he made many cherished memories with his family and friends. Some of those small joys that became memories were times spent at Atwood Lake aboard his pontoon or just relaxing and gazing at the stars with his canine companion, Jasper, by his side. Bob also had a sweet tooth that was legend in his family and he was able to indulge this at the many festivals he attended with family and friends.

Bob’s love for history, particularly the Civil War and Native American Culture, spurred him to travel with his wife to explore various places, enriching his life with knowledge and experience. Together, they also had formerly attended Strasburg Methodist Church and also served as ushers at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center, contributing to their community and forming lasting friendships with those around them.

Bob will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and interests but also for the loving presence he brought into the lives of those who knew him.

On September 24, 1966, Bob married the former Karen “Kay” Neibert and together they shared over 58 years of marriage until his passing. Also surviving are his children, Samantha (Bruce) Pearson, Bobby Reardon, Jr., Shannen (Doug) Reitter, Shawn (Sarah) Wallick and Shane (Katelyn) Wallick; his sister, Diane Mathews and many beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Melvin Reardon, and his loving in-laws, Samuel and Helyn Neibert.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and the family will host a celebration of his life later this year.

The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to either Hope Lodge, 11432 Mayfield Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44106, or, Cleveland VA Fisher House, 10521 Lee Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44106.
